@ ANCA DUMITRESCU, I meet all the requirements and I have been invited to do an interview with Lufthansa in Frankfurt. However, I am not a German citizen nor do I have a German visa or work permit. I would need to get a sponsorship from Lufthansa in order to go to work for them. Does this disqualify me?

        Thanks.

            Hello,
If your tattoo is not visible while wearing the cabin crew uniform then there is absolutely no problem. If your tattoo is visible while you wear the uniform, then you have to hide it with make-up or try to get it removed.
            Kind regards,

This sounds fantastic. I have all the qualifications needed and am fluent in English, German and Italian.
However, I am a Type 1 diabetic, and am insulin dependent, which I control with the assistance of a diabetes pump and monitor.
Would this bar me from achieving my dream of being a flight attendant?

            Posted at 11:05h, 26 February

            Hello dear Desere,

Unfortunately, having type 1 diabetes is an impediment in becoming a cabin crew. Always being in need of staying connected to the diabetes pump would put you in difficulty of getting the medical exams. We advise you to contact an aviation medical institution in order to find more details about the subject from health professionals.

            Good luck!

          Hello.
You are still young and if you want to apply now, in Europe is possible, because they accept people over 18 years old. The most important thing you have to do is to have a look on the compenies pofile, decide what suits you and then apply for an interview. Of couse you need a good training and on our web site there are lots of articles about this. Read them, and if there is any question you have, send us a message. Thank you and good luck!

Hey, Andreea Julei! I was born in Ethiopia and moved to America when I was 12 and now I’m 20 yrs . I can speak both Amharic and English. Lufthansa Airline and Emirates travel to Ethiopia and I recently traveled to Ethiopia with Lufthansa Airline. I can’t speak German but I can speak both english and Amharic. My question is that can i apply? Thank you- Michael Williams.

            Posted at 22:12h, 01 November

            Hello Michel,
One of Lufthansa’s rule is to speak fluent German and English and you said you don’t know any German. The fact that you know Amharic it can help you only for the flight to Ethiopia (in case they will hire you) and nothing more. I suggest you to wait until Emirates will start recruitments and then try to apply for an interview with them. We wish you good luck and text us if there is something else you want to know.

Posted at 11:51h, 09 January Reply

          Hello, dear Zahra!
Most airline companies don’t accept wearing the hijab because you have to respect the uniform standards. Although, maybe in the Middle East they’ll be more likely to accept it. The best way to clarify this aspect is to talk with your desired airline company’s officials about this topic.
          Good luck!

I read on their job page that you have to pay for your own way to the interview if you live outside of Europe. Something to consider. However, if you are from a European country, they will fly you in for your in-person interview. LH is still a great company to work for. I worked for them as a FA for 11 years and cried. If I didn’t live outside of Europe, I would definitely apply again.

Do you need to have an EU passport/Be a citizen of an EU country to be a Lufthansa Flight attendant.
    And
Do you hire oversees staff for non-Flight attendant positions. (e.g. working for Lufthansa out of an American airport, ground crew/ticketing agent/etc)

      Hello Jenny,

You only need to have a work permit that allows you to work within the EU. Usually, Lufthansa hires people from all over the world. And yes, they hire oversses staff for ground positions.)

      Good luck,

      Hello Ankit,

Yes, you should know German as close as a native speaker. It is not enough to only speak English. Start learning the language and after that you can apply for a Cabin Crew position.

Good luck and safe flights! 🙂

    Ciao,
I was born and raised in Germany….Lived there (Wiesbaden) until I was 19, then moved to the US, and eventually became a US Citizen. I am (naturally) still fluent (verbal and written) in German (and English), and I am seriously considering applying for a Cabin Crew Job with LH. The only thing keeping me from doing so, is, that the Interviews are held in Germany, and it is quite costly to fly there. The reason for me posting this comment, is, because I am wondering if LH is offering a discount for flights to the Interview, or not. I look forward to your reply, and…… vielen dank fuer Ihre Zeit ! 🙂
    Ciao

If your daughter wants to apply for a company like Lufthansa that requires a cabin crew attestation, she must enrol in aviation school.
If not, she can go to interviews without having an attestation. Most companies have their own schools in which they’ll train you.

Hi, I haven’t graduated from university yet but I only have 1 semester to go. So I’m thinking of starting to prepare for the Lufthansa job interview. However, I just read on this page says fluent German skill is needed. I heard that it is not necessary, so I’d like to know which is the accurate information. For your information, I’m from South Korea and I’m waiting for the South Korea recruitment. Thank you.
